At Living Hope and throughout the WELS we believe that in the Lord's Supper we receive the true body and blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, along with the bread and wine. In this communion God gives us forgiveness that we can touch and taste. It's the same forgiveness that is pronounced to you at the beginning of each service: You are forgiven!

The Lord's Supper also makes a second statement. It says "We are one in all that we do!" We don't know if this type of bond and unity in faith exists with our guests, so we ask those who visit with us to take the time to understand these teachings and establish a unity of beliefs with us before partaking of this act of fellowship.

By this practice of close communion, we are in no way judging your personal faith and relationship with Jesus.  We simply ask for an opportunity to share our beliefs with you so that together we can make a true expression of oneness at the Lord’s Table.
